About Asian Counseling & Referral Service
Founded in 1973, ACRS was a grassroots effort aimed at addressing misdiagnosis and culturally inappropriate or care for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Today, the organization has grown to provide a continuum of services for primarily low-income, immigrant, refugee, American-born Asians and Pacific Islanders through 14 major programs. Innovative multilingual and multicultural services are the hallmark of their success on issues like mental health, chemical dependency treatment, food banks, aging and adult services, citizenship services, and employment, and training services. Their staff of over 280 collectively speaks 40 languages and dialects, and serves over 35,000 people annually.
